Every year the Divine Mercy Novena and Feast Day are celebrated at St. Lucy's Church. The devotion begins with the Divine Mercy Novena that is held on the Fridays of Lent after the Stations of the Cross at 7pm. The seventh and eighth days of the Novena are the Friday and Saturday (7pm) before Divine Mercy Sunday.
Divine Mercy Sunday begins at 12:30pm with the Sacrament of Reconciliation heard by 5 priests. As the confessions are heard the Rosary is recited followed by the life of St. Faustina. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass begins at 2pm. Following Mass the Ninth day of the Divine Mercy Novena was recited followed by Benediction and the blessing with the relic of St. Faustina.
In these pictures Fr. Marek Wasliewski is the celebrant with Fr. Sam Ferretti, Pastor, and Deacon Carmine Mendicino assisting. Music was provided by St. Lucy's Choir under the direction of Christopher Mendicino, Music Director. Thank you to the Altar & Rosary and Holy Name Societies and the many faithful for making Divine Mercy Sunday a beautiful and memorable day of praise andthanksgiving to Our Lord Jesus Christ.
